L&#8217;approccio combina simulazioni idrodinamiche su larga scala con analisi locali ad alta risoluzione, gestendo il far field e il near field per ottimizzare risorse e accuratezza. Specializzato in Meccanica Computazionale, con focus sulla fluidodinamica computazionale (CFD) e sull\u2019interazione fluido-struttura (FSI). La sua ricerca integra metodi numerici per lo studio di impatti estremi e fenomeni di danneggiamento nei solidi. Ha ottenuto risultati di rilievo nell\u2019integrazione di strategie numeriche accoppiate (come il Particle Finite Element Method &#8211; PFEM e le Shallow Water Equations) per la simulazione di scenari di rischio costiero e impatto idrico sulle infrastrutture. Il suo campo d\u2019azione riguarda i sistemi energetici integrati e il monitoraggio delle infrastrutture per la produzione di energia. Si occupa dell\u2019analisi delle performance e della resilienza di strutture strategiche, con particolare attenzione alla transizione verso le energie rinnovabili (parchi eolici, offshore). Ha contribuito allo sviluppo di modelli per l\u2019ottimizzazione e il controllo di sistemi energetici complessi, integrando il monitoraggio strutturale con la gestione operativa. Si occupa principalmente di modellazione micromeccanica discreta, omogeneizzazione e meccanica dei metamateriali meccanici. La sua ricerca esplora il comportamento non lineare di reticoli complessi e la progettazione di materiali con propriet\u00e0 meccaniche &#8220;su misura&#8221; (tailored properties). Ha sviluppato modelli computazionali avanzati (tipo Hencky) per simulare l\u2019equilibrio e la dinamica di lattice metamaterials. La sua attivit\u00e0 si concentra sulla meccanica dei continui generalizzati (modelli di Cosserat, materiali con microstruttura), sulla meccanica delle shell (gusci) e delle piastre, e sulla meccanica delle superfici e delle interfacce. \u00c8 un esperto nello studio dei cambiamenti di fase nei solidi e nella meccanica dei metamateriali. Ha fornito contributi fondamentali alla modellazione matematica di superfici elastiche e nanostrutture. \u00c8 autore di oltre 200 pubblicazioni e numerosi trattati monografici utilizzati globalmente come riferimento per la teoria dei gusci e la teoria dell\u2019elasticit\u00e0 non lineare. Si occupa di integrare le Shallow Water Equations (per la modellazione del campo lontano) con i metodi Lagrangiani (PFEM, per l\u2019interazione nel campo vicino) al fine di quantificare le pressioni e le azioni chimiche esercitate dall\u2019acqua sulle strutture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNISS (Universit\u00e0 di Sassari): Focalizzata sulla modellazione micromccanica discreta e sull\u2019analisi non lineare di strutture reticolari complesse. Sviluppa strategie numeriche per simulare il comportamento dei metamateriali a traliccio e ottimizzarne le prestazioni strutturali in regimi statici e dinamici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNICA (Universit\u00e0 di Cagliari): Specializzata nella progettazione e analisi di materiali microstrutturati ed effetti di superficie. Il suo ruolo include lo studio della propagazione delle onde, delle propriet\u00e0 di smorzamento e la conduzione di test sperimentali (come prove di trazione, compressione e test con deflettometro a
